Nylon Cable Tie Mould
The layout of the cable tie cavities closely resembles a single piece of long leave, with each piece attached to the central branch “tree and branches.”
The molten plastic (PA66/PA6) originates from the nozzle, sprue, main runner, and sub-runner of the injection molding machine. It subsequently traverses the cavity gate, reaching the end of the cable tie tail. The majority of this path is narrow and flat, featuring numerous cavities. PA66/PA6 is heated to high temperatures, approximately 260℃. As it traverses this path, the temperature gradually decreases, causing the melt to solidify. This further enhances the resistance against the forwarding of molten plastic. Therefore, the mold temperature is the primary factor that mold makers and operators must consider. However, due to accumulated heat over time, a cooling water runner is also necessary. Each cavity requires an ejector, but a dense ejector can disrupt the layout of the cooling water runner. Cable ties come in various types (different sizes and designs), as do molds. It is crucial to maintain a reasonable mold cost to avoid increasing the cost of cable ties. Of particular importance are the quality of the teeth and the head cavity of the cable tie, as these are critical components. The teeth should be intact without any missing parts, and the inner surface of the upper portion of the head cavity should not exhibit any step-like mold deviations. High-quality nylon cable ties should be transparent and visually appealing. While a slight yellowing is acceptable, they should not be opaque or dark. The molecular structure of the plastic undergoes repeated high-temperature melt-shear actions, which is more pronounced in PA66 due to its exceptional wear resistance and tensile strength.
